Novodaya National Awards 2007 were given away today. Teachers, Vice-Principals, Principals and students of Navodaya Vidyalayas were honoured for academic excellence. Navodaya National Integration Meet 2007 beginning was announced too.To create an awareness among students and teachers on the subject of Education for Peace, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has organised the Meet this year with the focus on Education for Peace through the Arts from December 18-20, 2007, Bal Bhavan, New Delhi. Based on the theme Peace, it is an expression of desire to create “A Culture of Peace”.
Almost 500 students and teachers from all over India are participating in the event. Students have joined together from the far Southern areas such as Pathanamthitta, Kerala, Bagalkot & Dharwad, Karnataka, from the remote W. Garo Hills, Meghalaya, the distant South Sikkim and from the beautiful Bishnupur, Manipur. Some have come from the hills of Ranchi in Jharkhand and from the rocky & barren hilltops of Gaya from Bihar, from Mau, Uttar Pradesh, and from the hills of Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. Students have also come from Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, and from Koraput, Orissa, as also from the place of peace Wardha, Maharashtra. There are also children from Srinagar and Chandigarh, from the desert turned green regions of Rajasthan Banswada, & Jafferpurkalan the Vidyalaya which is closest to Delhi.
