This Examination is held once a year, generally in the month of May.
The exam is conducted by the s.c.c. for recruitment to the post of grade `D` Stenographers in the scale of Rs 4000-100-6000 for the following groups of services/offices.
Group `X`
(i) Central secretariat stenographers` service- grade D
(ii) Railway board secretariat stenographers` service-grade D
(iii) Armed forces headquarters stenographers`-service-grade D
(iv) Grade-iii of stenographers cadre of I.F.S. `B`
(v) Ministry of parliamentary affairs.
Group `Y`
(i) Subordinate offices of the Govt. of India located all over India.
(ii) Office of the comptroller and auditor general of India and accountant general (audit) and accountant general (account and Establishment).
(iii) Controller general of defence accounts
(iv) Delhi Administration.
Age: 18 to 25 years
Educational qualification: Matriculation or equivalent.
Plan of the Examination: The exam will consist of two parts.
Part I – Written Exam
Part II- Stenography Test
Examination Subjects:
(i) General Awareness – 100 Marks
(ii) Language Test – 100 Marks
Duration 2 Hours
