The S.S.C. conducts this exam every year for recruitment to the following posts.
(i) Inspector’s of Central Excise.
(ii) Examiner in Custom House at Mumbai, Calcutta, Goa, Cochine, Chennai and Vishakapatnam.
(iii) Preventive officer in Custom Houses at Mumbai, Calcutta, Goa, Cohine, Chennai and Vishakhapatnam.
(iv) Inspector of Income Tax in different charges of the commissioner of Income Tax.
(v) Assistant Enforcement officers in the Directorate of Enforcement (FERA)
The exam is held once a year, generally in the month of April. A candidate must have the age of 18 years and must have not attained the age of 25 years and a candidate must hold degree of a recognised university or equivalent.
Age: 20 to 28 years.
Educational qualification: Bachelor’s degree with Hindi and English as main subjects.
Plan of the Examination:
The exam consists in two stages.
(i) Written Exam (ii) Interview for personality Test
Exam Subjects:
(i) General Intelligence 120 marks
(ii) General English 80 marks
(iii) Arithmetical Ability 80 marks
(iv) General Awareness 120 marks
