Assistants Grade Exam

The staff selections commission for recruitment to conducts the Assistant’s Grade Exam:

(a) Grade IV (Assistant)
(b) Grade II (Cypher Assistant)
(c) Assistant’s grade of the Central secretariat service
(d) Assistant grade of the railway board secretariat service.
(e) Assistant grade of the Armed forces Headquarters.

The S.S.C. conducts the Assistants Grade Exam, once a year in two stages. The pre exam (objective type) for the selection of candidates for the main exam is held in the month of January. The Assistants Grade Main Exam is held in the month of July.

Age: A candidates must have attained the age of 20 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years and the age relaxation for S.C./S.T./O.B.C.

Educational Qualification: Degree of a recognized university or equivalent.

Plan of Exam: This is in two stages.
(a) Pre (b) Main and Interview

Preliminary Exam: This is in objective type
(i) Reasoning Ability – 75 marks Duration
(ii) General Awareness – 75 marks 3 Hours
(iii) Arithmetic – 75 marks
(iv) Language Paper – 75 marks
English or Hindi ————–Total 300 marks

Main Examination: This is conventional type.

Paper I – Language comprehension
(a) General English (Qualifying only but compulsory) – 50 marks Duration 3 hours.
(b) Communication/Writing skill —————Total 150 marks

Paper II – Arithmetic – 100 marks Duration 2 hours. ————Total – 300 marks
